Our fleet

We are currently over-boated. What exactly is over-boated, you ask? Over-boated is when you own entirely too many boats for your own good. Having jumped on the deal we found with No Más, we didn’t have time to finish our plan of selling The Dreamer first and looking for a boat second. So now we own a fleet. We don’t want to own a fleet and hopefully, it will quickly diminish….hopefully.

We'll start with the smallest and work up.

The Black Pearl is a 2 person/3 kid Sterns inflatable given to the kids by a very kind Captain Steve J. of Reflections. The kids loved fixing her up (scrubbing off old scuz) and inflating her, naming her and finally launching her. They take pride in her and take turns as Captain of the Pearl in order to learn all the highs and lows of having that heavy title on their shoulders.

Chuck is a 4 person, 9.4’ Watertender with a solar powered trolling motor. Chuck came with No Más and is a great dinghy but just not big enough for our needs. It will be going with The Dreamer when she is sold and was named by the kids because they didn’t want it to feel left out.
Chuck is now Molly and belongs to our dearest friends of RedLetters, Scott and Bonny. She is in very good hands!

Chester II is our 11’ fiberglass, half homemade dinghy/boat with a 3.3 hp Mercury. He came with The Dreamer having a large hole in the bottom and back transom that a little plywood and fiberglass fixed right up. We find it fitting that the last registration sticker he has is from 1974 (the birth year of both our Morgan’s and the Admiral). He was named Chester II after our beloved green van, Chester, because in their time, although ugly and dented, they safely got us where we needed to go. The great thing about both Chesters is no one will steal them or park close to them for fear of something falling off. We understand boats are female, but Chester II is all male and we can’t fault him for that.

The Dreamer is a 1974 28’ Morgan Out Island. She started out with her original Volvo MD6A and was recently outfitted with a newly rebuilt Volvo MD6A. She was our first liveaboard and will always hold a special place in our hearts. We love her and will make sure she gets a great new home but we ran out of room and of projects. It was time to up-size.  She will be on the market as soon as we are able to get No Más livable, hopefully mid January. The Dreamer has a new home now and she will be missed terribly but she has happy new owners who plan to use her often.

No Más is a 1974 41' Morgan Out Island 416. She has lived a varied and at times sordid past. Originally owned as a charter vessel she somehow ended up in the hands of smugglers. Under the name, Hombre, they gutted her to have as much space as possible for fuel and smuggled goods, even removing structures in the v-berth for an extra large diesel tank. After getting confiscated by authorities, she was then owned, rebuilt and loved by a nice family for about 20 years. Going by the name Beginnings, they kept her mostly in Honduras and sailed her often. Having endured Hurricane Mitch, she took on some water and required a new engine. They sailed her back to the states, outfitted her with a brand new Yanmar 70hp turbo and there she waited patiently for someone to put her to use.

And that's where we came along
